PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS
Ha Ha. A man and a woman in a platonic relationship. Impossible from the male side but routine from the female side. You are a good looking woman and have lots of male friends. Well, the statement contains the answer as to why all those people are your friends. Men can never fall into a platonic relationship. If they claim to do, they just done understand themselves. The only thing that can make a man befriend a woman is attraction towards her.
But alas, the womankind, who thinks so differently, never realizes this. Had you been ugly, you would have realized that how few male friends do you have.
Just because you don't have any attraction towards a male friend, doesn't mean that he too doesn't. He surely does. Sounds incredulous? Go out and test it, but please don't ask someone, his obvious reply will be- No. Its platonic.

Argumentum ad hominem usually occurs when the writer attacks the person or group of people making the assertion, rather than attacking the person's evidence, assumptions, premises, inferences, or conclusions. Not only is this faulty logic, since the validity and soundness of an argument does not depend on the personal characteristics of the person who makes it, it is also a poor rhetorical strategy because it is so easy to beat.
U had studied for GMAT, so i thought u ll recognise this fallacy. Anyways, what it means is that when u have to refute an argument, refute the argument by giving a counter argument or by questioning the basis of the argument..., not by questioning the standing of the other person. e.g. "He can't be right, he is a child." This is called Argumentum ad hominem.
great style of writing but i cudnt disagree more with the idea in this post..platonic relationships between ppl of the opposite sex are very real and are all around us.
Good/smart looks probably act catalysts in a friendship, not just between opp sexes but any two individuals..however it is not a necessary condition..after a point in time, a mature individual, i believe, would respect the intellect of a person.
As a girl i wud refute your claim that men can never fall into a platonic relnship ..but like u said if womankind never realises the "actual thing"...then ignorance is bliss for me!!
